The Redirect Handle From Origin feature enhances redirect management for streaming content, where efficiency and seamless playback are critical. Redirects in streaming workflows may occur due to load balancing, content versioning, or geographic optimization. This feature ensures that such redirects are processed smoothly to maintain uninterrupted content delivery and playback.
3xx Status Code Configuration Manage HTTP redirects (e.g., 301, 302) to handle streaming content seamlessly, particularly when redirecting to alternate origins or media endpoints.
Playback-Optimized Header Management Control which request headers are included or excluded during the redirect process to ensure smooth video or audio playback.
Custom Redirect Logic Add or modify headers dynamically to optimize routing for load balancing, failover mechanisms, or geo-specific media servers.
Uninterrupted Streaming: Ensures redirects do not disrupt video or audio playback.
Load Balancing Efficiency: Redirects requests dynamically to less congested or closer origin servers for better performance.
Reduced Latency: Handles redirects efficiently, minimizing buffering or playback interruptions.

Handle Origin Redirection Error: Select which HTTP status codes (301, 302, 303, 307, 308) to handle for origin redirections. You can choose one or multiple options depending on the behavior you want to implement.
Request Header Key: Specify the name of the request header you want to manage during the redirection process.
Request Header Value: Provide the value for the corresponding request header key.
Add Header Key: Specify the name of the custom header to be appended during the redirection.
Add Header Value: Provide the value for the custom header key to ensure it is correctly appended.

The Origin Response Timeout setting in the Medianova Cloud Panel enables precise control over the maximum wait time for responses from the origin server in streaming workflows. For video or audio content delivery, where uninterrupted playback is essential, managing timeouts ensures efficient streaming performance and reduces buffering.
Customizable Timeout Duration Define a specific timeout (in seconds) to handle streaming-origin server responses.
Min: 5 seconds
Max: 300 seconds
Optimized for Streaming Workflows Adjust timeout values to support scenarios where media file segments or live stream manifests take longer to respond.
Buffering Prevention Avoid playback interruptions by setting appropriate timeouts to account for origin server delays without impacting streaming performance.
Uninterrupted Playback: Ensures smooth streaming by handling delayed origin responses effectively.
Reduced Buffering: Balances response times to prevent disruptions during video or audio playback.
Load Resilience: Accommodates varying response times during peak load without affecting user experience.
Click on the CDN Resources section in the left-hand menu of the Cloud panel.
Select the relevant resource.
Click on the Origin Settings tab.
Navigate to the Origin Response Timeout section in the Medianova Cloud Panel.
Set the Timeout Duration: In the Origin Response Timeout section, set the timeout value between 5 seconds and 300 seconds, according to your needs.
After adjusting the timeout, click Save to apply the new settings.
By configuring the Origin Response Timeout, you can optimize the time the system waits for a response, ensuring that requests are handled efficiently without unnecessary delays.
