Your Dashboards

Explore the preconfigured Edgesight Analytics dashboards for monitoring CDN traffic, performance, cache behavior, and automated activity.

Edgesight Analytics provides four preconfigured Grafana dashboards designed for CDN traffic analysis. Each dashboard uses aggregated data to provide a different view of traffic, performance, cache behavior, and automated activity.

The available dashboards are:

  • Overview

  • Performance Analytics

  • HTTP & Cache Analytics

  • Bot Analytics

Open Your Dashboards

From Edgesight → Analytics in the Medianova Control Panel, select Open Grafana.

You can also access the Grafana workspace directly at:

Sign in using one of the dashboard accounts configured for the workspace.

Available Dashboards

Overview

The Overview dashboard provides a high-level view of CDN traffic and delivery behavior.

It includes:

  • Total requests

  • Total data transferred

  • Cache HIT ratio

  • Error ratio

  • Traffic by CDN resource

  • Traffic by country

  • HTTP status distribution

Use Overview as the primary dashboard for monitoring overall CDN activity before investigating specific behavior in the other dashboards.

Go to Overview for dashboard details.

Performance Analytics

The Performance Analytics dashboard provides detailed visibility into CDN responsiveness and regional performance.

It includes:

  • Request time trends

  • Request time by country

  • Round Trip Time (RTT)

  • Datacenter-level performance

  • ASN-level traffic

  • Error ratios by datacenter

Use this dashboard to investigate latency, compare delivery performance across locations, and determine whether a performance issue is isolated to a specific region or datacenter.

Go to Performance Analytics for dashboard details.

HTTP & Cache Analytics

The HTTP & Cache Analytics dashboard combines request-level traffic characteristics with aggregated cache behavior.

It includes:

  • URL paths

  • Referers

  • Hosts

  • Cache status

  • Operating systems

  • Browsers

  • Device types

Use this dashboard to understand which content is requested, where requests originate, and how effectively CDN edge servers serve requests from cache.

Go to HTTP & Cache Analytics for dashboard details.

Bot Analytics

The Bot Analytics dashboard provides visibility into automated and bot-generated CDN traffic.

It helps you analyze:

  • Bot request volume

  • Bot user agents

  • Requested content

  • Country distribution

  • Automated traffic patterns

Use this dashboard to distinguish expected automated traffic, such as search engine crawlers, from bot activity that may require further investigation or traffic controls.

Go to Bot Analytics for dashboard details.

Aggregated Data and Instant Logs

Edgesight Analytics dashboards operate on aggregated data. Metrics such as counts, averages, and percentiles are calculated as logs arrive and stored using predefined dimensions.

This architecture supports efficient analysis across long time ranges without querying individual request records.

Edgesight Analytics and Instant Logs serve different use cases. Analytics provides aggregated, long-term views of CDN behavior. Instant Logs retains individual request records for request-level filtering, inspection, and export.

Because Analytics stores predefined aggregations, dashboards can only analyze dimensions included in their datasets. Data that was not stored as part of those aggregations cannot be reconstructed later.

Retention and Granularity

Each dashboard has independent Retention and Granularity settings.

Retention determines how far back the dashboard can query its stored data.

Granularity determines the time interval used when aggregated data is stored. Available intervals are:

  • 1 minute

  • 5 minutes

  • 1 hour

  • 1 day

Finer granularity provides more detail for short-duration analysis. Coarser granularity reduces the resolution of stored data and is more suitable for longer time ranges.

Dashboard Controls

Dashboard users can use Grafana controls to investigate the available data without modifying the underlying dashboards.

Depending on the dashboard, users can:

  • Change the time range.

  • Zoom into a specific period.

  • Filter data using dashboard variables such as CDN source, host, or country.

  • Hover over panels to inspect exact values.

  • Export data from individual panels.

Dashboard accounts cannot modify the predefined panels, queries, or dashboard layout.

Preconfigured dashboards are managed by Medianova to maintain consistent metrics and visualization behavior across Edgesight Analytics workspaces.

For workspace users, access restrictions, and other management settings, see Access & Management.
